Software engineer, researcher, and educator.
Hello, I'm Christopher Watson. I help people and organizations think more clearly, decide with confidence, and perform at their best through research, engineering, and mentorship.
Before transitioning to engineering, I spent ten years as a high school educator, igniting students' curiosity and confidence as problem-solvers. That experience sharpened my ability to break down complex concepts and instill a genuine love of learning—skills I draw on daily in my current work.
As a software engineer at MITRE and a PhD researcher at Howard University's Human-Centered AI Institute, my work centers on the functional application of AI, with particular depth in Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)-based Large Language Models (LLMs), human-AI trust, and AI-enabled decision support. I'm committed to applying that research where it matters most, and I'm always open to opportunities and collaborations that push trustworthy AI forward.
Today, I carry that same commitment into mentoring aspiring professionals, exploring emerging technologies, and helping people and organizations turn knowledge into impact.
